I went to try this ramen since I'd heard very good reviews and it was one of the ones I had yet to try in Monterrey. There were two of us, and we both ordered the Yamasan Ramen.nnI understand that many people like it, but neither my friend nor I liked it; the broth had a rather thick, strange, and unpleasant texture. As for the flavor, I usually prefer broths that are not as salty and a little milder. I felt the base was good, but in some bites, the flavor of the toasted garlic chips was too predominant, so much so that we found it unpleasant. In others, we felt the seaweed flavor was also very strong, giving a very odd aftertaste of fish or seafood. My friend managed to fix it a bit by adding soy sauce (quite a lot), but I left my bowl untouched, except for a few bites, something I'd never done anywhere before.nnAs for the service, the first ramen was delivered fairly quickly, but the second took approximately 20 to 30 minutes longer. By the time the next one arrived, it was lukewarm, bordering on cold. Our table was also neglected. I had to stop twice to ask how much time the second one was missing, as I began to think the waiter hadn't gotten our order right, and another time to ask for cutlery. Aside from this, we didn't find the waitress at all friendly. I can't exactly describe why, but that was the feeling I got compared to other experiences elsewhere.nnThe location is fine; there's plenty of parking, but it's true that most tables are outside, so you have to take the weather into account. When I went, it was around 7 p.m. and it was a cloudy and windy day, so it was pretty good.
