One of the worst experiences, we ordered chicken katsu kare (with curry) and there was a label on the chicken pieces, the staff handled it poorly and their response was that they didn't have any product that had that label, they practically blamed us and told us to decide what to do. We have been regular customers, but I won't be back, what a shame.

Very nice place, knowledgeable and welcoming staff, they speak a few things in Japanese. Shimaya is a good place to enjoy ramen and obentos. I find the makis delicious but basic, but the ramen and its varieties are definitely delicious.nThe prices are affordable. The downside is that it takes a while to serve due to high demand, and there are people waiting in line to get in, but it's worth it. So if you have an appointment, arrive at least 10 minutes early to get a table.nNice place for a special date.
